Need a bit of relaxation in between ski runs? Head to Au Coeur du Village, the perfect place for an Alpine escape, with its luxurious spa and perfect location in the centre of La Clusaz.
Resembling a contemporary wooden chalet, the hotel’s Cinq Mondes Cristal Spa features a selection of treatments, from ayurvedic rituals to Polynesian massages — the ideal antidote to ski-related aches and pains. Or you can just be soothed by the hydrotherapy pool’s jets.
From the extensive menu, I chose the Ko Bi Do anti-wrinkle facial, which uses a Japanese massage technique to create a natural facelift. On the whole it was very relaxing, and while it may not magically banish deep lines, it did stop me frowning and left my face glowing.
A bonus of this spa is its charming setting. The village of La Clusaz may not be as well-known as nearby Chamonix, but it’s far prettier, with views of Mont Blanc.
Beginners and intermediates will find plenty of fun runs on the resort’s five peaks, and you can even try your hand at ski joering — being pulled along on your skis by horses.
The Ko Bi Do facial in the Cinq Mondes Cristal Spa is priced from €120 (£96) for 50 minutes.
