Geri Bain flies interstate from Jacksonville to Newark International Airport

Seats: Economy seats were laid out 3×3 with a 31-inch pitch and a 17.2-inch width. Economy Plus would have added five inches more legroom, but the seat width was the same. Seating was comfortable enough, certainly adequate for this fairly short flight.

Food and drink: Soft drinks, coffee, juice and water are free and are served with a pretzel snack mix.

Entertainment: The only free entertainment was the magazine in the seatback. A touchscreen seat-back monitor offered Direct TV movies and shows for $7.99 (£6.16) per person when purchased in-flight; $4.99 (£3.85) in advance, with $2 (£1.54) discounts for additional users purchased on the same credit card. Wi-fi was also available for a fee, and passengers were notified of this via email in advance of travel, which was a useful touch.

Service: In-flight service was friendly and efficient. A gate change was clearly communicated well in advance. The boarding process was very organised and fairly painless. However, the cabin was uncomfortably warm during boarding and didn’t cool down until we were actually in the air, when the temperature was much better.
